Le Città

Le Città è una serie sovrastata dallo spazio urbano. Luoghi che non accolgono, nei quali l’umanità è eco più che presenza. Non si descrive una città né si tenta di ricomporla. Il lavoro procede per frammenti, dove lo spazio segue una logica che non contempla chi lo abita, come se la presenza non fosse prevista. Le fotografie si fermano su questa estraneità, sulle prossimità senza incontro, sull’indifferenza della città verso chi l’ha costruita. Fotografare è cercare il punto in cui questa incompatibilità diventa visibile.

Le Città is a series dominated by urban space. Places that offer no welcome, where humanity is more echo than presence. The work neither describes a city nor attempts to piece one back together. It unfolds through fragments, in places where space follows a logic that makes no allowance for those who inhabit it, as though presence itself had never been envisaged. The photographs dwell on this estrangement, on proximity without encounter, on the city’s indifference to those who built it. To photograph is to search for the point at which this incompatibility becomes visible.
